Weighing Trust

Frankly, there are few, actually very, very few people that I have put
"all" my trust in...in my whole life. I just haven't met alot of people
that I feel totally comfortable with. I share general details about my
life, and in relationships, closeness is borne over a course of time. I
don't give it overnight.

In life situations, those we associate
with, that we call our friends...we really don't know, or can't know in
a matter of months, or via through a phone line or computer. It takes
time to let your guard down long enough to let someone else in, much
less let multiple people in. The intimate details of your life, and
your personality is only as precious as you hold it up, in front of
others.

Some take your trust as a sign of weakness, instead of a
indication that you are putting your reputation on the line also. When
they break that trust, sometimes you never get it back. Other times, it
may heal on it's own...or take years to recover.

Upon meeting a new
associate, I am always willing to do the work to trust, but it is an
iffy process, with few returns. On the other hand, trust earned is like
money in the bank. You know it's there, and you can use it to negotiate
facts, favors, and share intimate details. It is beautiful if it is
mutual....

Do you have trust issues?
Are you trustworthy?

  1. I trust everybody in the beginning until I find they lied to me, or find they are untrustworthy....that's when the trust stops! and my distances from them begins.

I am trustworthy, but I don't do bullshit! don't have the patience for it! But if I am a friend..my friends can trust me, even when they are no longer my friend. Whatever secrets they shared, remain just that...a secret!

I never get that mad or hate that bad!

  3. Yes, I have trust issues - you earn my trust and many have lost what little oppurtunity they had to gain. Of course it can be earned but it takes serious effort.

As for me being trust worthy, I am not the person to answer that my friends and associates are - think in each case though they will affirm my being a person of my word regardless of the consequence.

  5. I have trust issues.
I trust no one with myself personally.
trust them as far as they allow me to.
I don't condemn them off the bat nor do I give them free reign.

Just know that I hold alot close to me and won't open up until they have passed all the tests
