I remember not long ago
we laughed,
loved,
we shared everything
The best of friends
or....at least I thought.
I wonder why friendships end
when one friend falls in love
Thought we were loyal
Thought we were true
What happens
Just wave you off
buh bye
Friendship lost
Is a very sad thing

ReplyDeletePeople come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.
....During a really dark period someone emailed this peice to me...it took me awhle to really get the logic behind the message but once I got it , it remained with me... so I hope you do not mind my sharing it here....When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.
Sometimes we want to keep the ones who must go...
ReplyDeleteAin't that a fact...smile
ReplyDeleteSad, but true, Bonny. The color kinda set the mood for me also...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the read, lady

ReplyDeletejiazy...this addage is 'a hard pill to swallow' sometimes, and some never recover. I guess Poetry is not all sweet, but painful, and nostalgic, too. This is real for me, but it serves as a growing experience also..Thank you for the added insight, and candor...
yes, I am guilty of wanting to keep all my friends, but I,too, am growing up and I know I can't...you're right...sigh
ReplyDeleteif we must loose friends, it's best to try to remember the good times rather than mourn the ones not yet experienced.
ReplyDeleteI suppose so, Crystal. besides the good memories always outweigh the bad ones...
ReplyDeletethanks for reading me
It is, indeed, a very sad thing.
ReplyDeleteIt sucks that sometimes friendships are just a way from some people to fill the void of a romantic interest. Then when that romantic interest gets overwhelmed with the demand of being EVERYTHING to someone, they come back looking for friendship again. I can't judge though, because I've been on both sides of the equation.
ReplyDeleteHeartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteHi Lyssa...thanks for stopping by. Losing friends ain't no walk in the park sigh
ReplyDeleteendless...you said a mouth full. Glad you could feel the sentiments on either side. I've been on both side too...lol
ReplyDeleteheartbreaking...I was thinking about how strong a word, but I guess when it happens to you..it is hard. I know from experience, but I'd like to be able to take the good memories with me...
ReplyDeletethanks for feeling this write...
Been there myself, unsettling...
ReplyDeleteGlad you could feel this, in one way, Eros, but I wouldn't wish this pain on my enemy. Thanks for the read, lady
