Humble Giving
You may feel like donating your time, energy, or resources to unselfishly give to others today. This spirit of generosity might be the result of your desire to share what you have with those who are less fortunate than you. Volunteering at a local organization or even helping out a friend in need are ways you can put your charitable wishes into practice. Before you give to another person today, however, you might wish to relinquish all desire you have for receiving praise or thanks from someone else. Perhaps reminding yourself that you may need help at some point in your life and seeing that you are part of an interconnected and interdependent world could help you. Being humble in your approach to giving could make your contributions all the more meaningful for the people you serve.
Realizing that we all need each other makes it easier to give selflessly. When giving to another person, it can be easy for us to think that since we have a special skill or extra resources we are better than they. If we can recognize that the needs others have are simply a reflection of our own humanity, we will find it easier to serve others with greater compassion for we all struggle and suffer at some point in our lives. By sharing your gifts in a way that engenders compassion and humility today, you will give wholeheartedly from the innermost and purest depths of your spirit today.
