SUNDAYS WITH JOYCE

Meditation

Meditate on God's Law.....Joshua 1: 8....This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Meditate on God's principles.....Psalm 119: 23,48.....Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. Thy testimonies also are my delight, and my counselors.

Meditate through the night.....Psalm 63: 6-8.....When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

Ponder God's great works.....Psalm 143: 5-6, 8.....I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah Cause me to hear thy loving-kindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Reflect on god's ways.....Psalm 119: 15,16.....I will mediate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

DAILY MEDITATION

Let us be still for a few moments

Without moving even our little finger

So that a hush descends upon us.

There would be no place to go,

Nor to come from,

For we would have arrived in this extraordinary moment

There would be a stillness and silence,

That would fill all of our senses,

Where all things would find their rest.

Everything would then be together in a deep connection.

Putting an end to 'us and them', this against that.

We would not move in these brief moments

For that would disturb this palpable presence;

There would be nothing to be said nor done

For life would embrace us in this wondrous meeting

And take us into its arms as a loving friend.

Prayer for today:

Heavenly Father, I commit my thoughts to You today.

I purpose in my heart to stay focused on You and the good plan You have for me today.

Holy Spirit, remind me of God's Word so I can fill my heart with His promise of victory today

  2. Just like in early times Joshua meditated upon God's Word, we too need to do the same today
to make our way successful and prosperous. Sometimes there are no humans around and we have
to meditate and ponder over spiritual matters with God and or about matters that concern us.

Meditation is wonderful, it takes worry away.

Thank you for this post today.

  3. Great as usual! I have tried meditation at times but I seem to have a big problem in shutting off my brain to do this. If I could just find the switch to turn off my brain.......maybe someone could post a blog about how to go about meditating. Thanks for another sunday with joyce!

.....Doubtfire, I found this one link to simple ways to meditate. I, too, have a hard time learning to be still, and slow my brain down. Looking back on this lesson, I can see why this would inspire me today, as well. I'm always glad to share these messages...I'm glad you liked it...

  8. Good afternoon Joyce... I didn't get a chance to read this earlier this morning, but it's wonderful how God allows things to be connected. I heard a similar word to this today at church, and this blog is so on time. This scripture from Psalms and another one from Matthew 11:28, Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy burden, and I will give you rest. I believe that those two passages are about to make a major difference for me personally. Thank you for being a blessing Joyce. Love you.
