I am looking for a song...
I think the title is WHEREVER YOU ARE. It was performed by a girl group in the 90's. All you music buffs, help a sistah out. I think the name of the album was SOUTHERN Girl, or Songbird, or something like that. I was thinking SWV, TOTAL, or EXCAPE, but I don't think it's them....
Some of the words are.."hello, I hope youre doing fine. it's been a long time, and I thought I'd ehar from you. I'm sorry that you're having such a hard time.." That's all I can remember. But I know the chorus is WHEREVER YOU ARE

ok, I need more information. How does the chorus go....
ReplyDeletecan you type it kinda like it goes?
Yeah, I don't fee it just yet... have any more of it ?
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel Joyce. There's a song that I can't get out of my mind and the chorus goes "For you I will....(dah dah dah...dah dah) I will...(dah dah)...For all tha love that we made...For the dah dah dah dah...For you I Will"
ReplyDeleteThis is by a man and I keep thinking that it's Kenny Lattimore and it's not. Or atleast I don't know the right name of the title. But yeah I'll have to send out my plea. If not Kenny Lattimore some male singer with that style.
I think the song you are referring to was sung by Terry Ellis of EnVogue. I LOVED that song!!!! It's on Terry's album entitled "SOUTHERN GAL". It was released in 1995 on Elektra records. Hope this helps! :)
ReplyDeleteI am a die hard music fan so yeah I'm a bit nerdy when it comes to music! lol have a HUGE collection that fills one wall!
~MyTruth
Du-OH!! I guess I should've read your message ALL of the way thru BEFORE I was so quick to respond! lol

ReplyDeleteOk, now for my song HELP! This song has been in my head for 2 months.
ReplyDeleteI swear it's Kenny Lattimore but I can't find it so my title may be off.

ReplyDeleteWhere Ever You Are by Terry Ellis
ReplyDeleteOoh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...
My love, been such a long, long time
One day I always knew I’d hear from you again
But I’m sorry to find you’re havin’ such hard times
But you thought of me in your time of need, so I say
Build me a road, dear, and I will come runnin’
No matter how long or how hard it may be (Where ever you are)
I have the light from your love, dear, to guide me
I promise I’ll be there whenever you need
Who thought it would ever come to this
One last letter with no one last kiss
As the seasons go by, every day you’re on my mind, baby
I long one day to be with you, so I say
Build me a road, dear (Oh, yes), and I will come runnin’ (I’ll come runnin’)
No matter how long or (How) how hard it may be (Where ever you are)
I have the light from your love, dear, to guide me
(I promise) I promise (I’ll be there) I’ll be there whenever you need
You promised me, I promised you
The love for one another was true
But somewhere in time we went on with our lives
Now we’re, oh, so far apart, too far to make a start
Too long to make it end, I must see you again
Build me a road, dear, and I will come runnin’
No matter how long (No matter) or how hard it may be (Where ever you are)
I have the light from your love, dear, to guide me
I promise I’ll be there (Hey...) whenever you need
Where ever you are
Where ever you are, mmm...yeah
Where ever you are
Where ever you are, mmm
Hoo....hmm...
Hoo...hoo...ooh...
Ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...
Ooh...yeah
Hoo...ooh...
envogue sung it baby
ReplyDeletenot to correct but who do you think Terry was a member of?

ReplyDeleteThat's interesting. It just came out of the blue?
ReplyDeleteWish I could tune into your ear-waves then. Strangely enough, I'm not kidding. Do you remember any other similar songs of that era? You started a yearning in me now to take a trip down that particular memory lane.
Tweet's cd, actually. Southern Hummingbird. It was my thinking that she sang the song....
ReplyDeleteNot sure what's the message, but I'm still listening...
Joyce I meant to tell you that there is a WHOLE LOT of music here on Multiply.
ReplyDeleteGo to search...
type in the name of the song or preferably the artist...
so many many wonderful playlists will mesmorize you.
Especially our Multiply cohorts from the Phillipines.
There is a wealth of outstanding musical taste in the Phillipines.
TY Amina. I never used that "search" feature. Never knew what it was for. I know...I'm a lil slow at times. I think I will.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't hurt to look for Tessie Hill. She was a gospel singer back in the late 70's, and early 80's. SHe sang a song that I just gave up looking for...."Let It Be", and "I'm Glad He Found Me First". SOmeone stole some albums out fo my house.... "SIGH"
Sounds to me like your putting out a challenge for me ....hmmmm........
ReplyDeleteI'm on it.
I kinda like this networking...I think there is one more song, if anyone can find the song...
ReplyDeleteTURN OFF THE LIGHTS-by the World Class Wrecking Crew. Now that's the song! I thought that was the absolute sexxiest song I had heard in that era...
I think it was n the late 80's and early 90's
