words scrambled.....
rambled.
tales of a drug deal
gone very wrong,
carried out
by a two-bit drug dealer.
found guilty.
verdict-
execution of my brother's killer.
my brother was only "there"
he wasn't even aware...
that a drop would go bad
he was just pronounced
a brand new dad
now, his baby carries the pain
of a father brutally slain....
by a two-bit drug dealer.
In court.......
as he faced the family
and child
trying, through tears,
to manage a smile
his speech was warbled
and broken
talking about how his life
had been a token
of a greater problem that exists-
an addiction
that makes you do crazy things
like killing..stealing
and slitting your wrists.
My mother's eyes never left the man
You could tell
she just didn't understand....
why her son
was in the wrong place
at the wrong time
and died
...by this man's hand.
